    Description

RARE Wm BOEKEL & CO 1904 COPPER & BRASS DIVING BELL HELMET HAND AIR PUMP.
Large antique manual air pump made by Wm. Boekel and Company of Philadelphia.
Research on this item shows that it was patented in 1904 and used for shallow water diving operations,
and some early fire fighting applications.
The pump is made primarily of copper and brass.
It is being offered as a display item only, and should not be used for any other purpose unless certified
    by a competent diving shop.
    Dimentions:
Overall Height: 26"        Height of bell: 9 3/4"
    Diameter: 11"                 Weight 13 1/2 lbs.
The metal has some dents, oxidation, tarnish stains and scratches.
The pump is 18" wide at the bottom where you put your feet when pumping.
It is 26" tall when the handle is down, and the wooden handle is 15".
Amazingly, it still works! I closed the valve, and pumped several times
until it built up sufficient pressure and then opened the valve, and
    forced air came out!
The item is sold as pictured.
