FROSTED PINK "COURT JESTER" POWDER JAR CIRCA 1929 STAMPED "TAUSSAUNT GLASS"
According to the Whitmeyers, writing in their book,
Bedroom and Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Era
, this Powder Jar was patented in 1929 and most of the bases bear the marking,
Taussaunt Glass, as does this one. It is illustrated in their book on Page 45, Row 2.
The 12 square tab-like feet on the base are easily damaged, and this particular design is very difficult to find in undamaged condition, as this one is.
The Powder Jar is 5-1/2" in diameter, about 4-1/2" tall and weighs a little over 1-1/2 pounds.
It is in great condition; no chips cracks or scratches.
