Central Glass Works Art Deco Studio Glass Amethyst & Pasta White Tazza Compote
Excellent piece of vintage glass from the Central Glass Works Company (Wheeling, WVa), 1920s/30s vintage. Apparently included in the Schiffer book: Central Glass Works: The Depression Era by Tim Schmidt. Examples are also included in West Virginia Glass by Dean Six (see screengrab).
Fabulous and very skillfully hand crafted compote made from a classic amethyst glass, featuring pasta white glass accents for the knop and edge of the bowl….unusual and wonderful. The bowl has a radial optical rib pattern to it. A killer piece.
Size/Condition: Measures 7.5” tall x 8.25” diameter. Please also refer to ALL of the photographs as they are part of the description. Minor production variations. A bit of scattered scratch wear, no chips or cracks. Foot wear. Unmarked, undated.
