Walk to make a difference

Do you know how it feels to be destitute or homeless? Now is your chance to learn about the plight of those less fortunate and contribute to their better living.
To mark World Homelessness Day 2024 which falls on Oct 10, the Issarachon Foundation is holding an inaugural walk titled “Homeless State: How Deep Do You Know”, to raise funds to help homeless people.
Open to everyone who wants to help, the walk will take place on Oct 10 at 4pm, at a park near the Thokkathan-Mother Earth Squeezing Her Hair statue on Ratchadamnoen Nai Avenue (near the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel).
Participants are invited to check in at four venues within Rattanakosin Island — Ratchadamnoen Road, Saranrom Park, Wat Suthat Thepwanaram and the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel — and join the games and activities arranged there.
Those who successfully check in at all four venues and make it to the finish line will receive an art toy as a souvenir. They will also have a chance to win special prizes.
Also running from 4pm to 6pm will be an exhibition on welfare for the homeless featuring 14 booths from many foundations and organisations. Interested people are invited to come and share their perspectives about the homeless and learn how to help them out.
The fee for the walk is 350 baht and applications can be made via bit.ly/47K7dvE. Donations are also welcome.
